Book Review/Giveaway: The Diva Steals a Chocolate Kiss by Krista Davis

From the publisher: Domestic Diva Sophie Winston is in charge of the sweetest event in Old Town this summer. Amore Chocolates is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary with a chocolate tasting at the mansion of the company’s CEO, Joe Merano—and Sophie is running the show. With cookies, candy, and five kinds of chocolate cake, it’s a chocolate lover’s dream! But when Joe goes missing, the celebration becomes bittersweet. And when Sophie discovers the body of a competing chocolatier in the guesthouse, the event turns downright deadly.

As if that wasn’t enough, Sophie’s been receiving daily boxes of sweet treats. After ruling out her new beau and her exes, Sophie wonders if someone’s trying to send her a message—and if she’s next on a chocoholic’s hit list…

Every book in Krista Davis' best-selling Domestic Diva mystery series is an action-packed adventure, and this one is no exception. Sophie is the event planner for Amore Chocolate's 60th anniversary, and a chocolate tasting is being held at the mansion of Joe Merano, the CEO of the company. Just before the party Sophie learns that Joe has gone missing, but the family wants that kept quiet. Then while cleaning up after the tasting, she finds the body of a competing chocolatier in the guest house, strangled with his chocolate-print tie! Add to that a possible box of poisoned chocolates, still more missing people, and poor Sophie is up to her eyeballs in trouble once again. Suspicious people with secrets galore are coming out of the woodwork.

In addition to the various members of the Merano family and Amore Chocolate's employees, we get to spend time with the characters from this series that we have grown to love. Sophie's new boyfriend is getting upset by the amount of time she spends with her ex-husband and ex-boyfriend. (Speaking of ex-husband Mars...he moves back in with Sophie to recover from a broken leg he gets when Natasha causes a plumbing disaster. It is hysterical.) And best friend Nina is fostering a chocolate lab puppy named...wait for it...Truffles!!!

Great characters, a charming small town, a compelling mystery, and oodles of chocolate...the purr-fect ingredients for a spectacular cozy!

Giveaway: Leave a comment by noon eastern on Wednesday, June 10th for your chance to win a copy of The Diva Steals a Chocolate Kiss. (US entries only, please.)

Awww, what a sweet picture. We love bellies on kitties - they are always so floofy and kissable. The book sounds good, but I'll pass on the drawing this time. I'm really back logged with books and simply must read the ones I have first. I'll probably get caught up this summer - I usually do.
