Mo Needs Purrs & Prayers

Meows from Mudpie :(

Mommy will write all about it later, but today we're requesting purrs and prayers for our feral boy Mo.

He has deteriorated significantly over the past few weeks, and he'll most likely be going to the Rainbow Bridge this week.

Mommy has spent the weekend trying to bring him into the house for his last days but so far it hasn't worked. She fears he's going to pass away outside all alone and that she won't be able to find him.

Mommy's heart is breaking. She just wants him to have a peaceful passing, surrounded by her love.

  1. Oh purr purr purr! A few cats who've been cuddly pets do want to spend their last moments clinging to their humans. (Zakitty literally clung to my leg until he fell off and lay still, minutes before his heart stopped.) But more of them want to be alone. Sometimes they show they know they're loved by hiding in an unlikely place near their humans, who then find them a few weeks later...they didn't want to be pestered by touching or emotion, but they wanted to be close.

Purrs and virtual cuddles to you and Mudpie.

  2. Mudpie, we know your mommy has been taking care of Mo for a very long time. He's had the best of outdoor care he could have gotten and we hope that he passes over the rainbow with her holding his paw.

  3. Prayers for sweet Mo from all of us. I understand that heartbreak, it's so difficult to see those ferals go through those tough times. Hugs from all of us.

  12. Thank you for loving and caring for him. I've seen most of the longtime feral kitties around here move in with their caretakers at the end, even if only for a day, sometimes the garage even, sometimes confining all the other cats and just leaving the door open when he's out there. But sometimes they are terrified at being confined. If not, he feels safe with you, and if there is a protected spot for him near that's probably where he'll be. Thinking of you and Mo.

  13. We send purrayers and POTP and love to Mo. Do you have a garage where maybe Mommy could give him some shelter but he might not feel so confined ? It is very kind to not wantt him to be alone.
