A Tail of Two Brave Women

Meows from Mudpie!

We had a little excitement here late Monday night that was traumatic at the time, but now we find it hysterical.

Around 11 each night Mommy fixes herself a cup of a tea and a sweet snack to have while watching the late local news. I have half of a squeezie at the same time.

It all happened really fast but as Mommy walked into the living room from the kitchen she noticed something dark zoom across the rug - a house centipede with elebenty billion legs - and it was racing right towards me!

She dropped her snack and started screaming. I started running from it, stopping every few feet to look behind me to see if it was still following me. Finally I bailed for the kitchen, leaving Mommy to handle the situation alone. Thank Cod the threat was neutralized quickly.

Once I dared to venture back into the living room and Mommy finished consoling me, she couldn't stop laughing. She wishes we had a security camera that could've captured the whole thing for posterity. It might've even made it to America's Funniest Home Videos! Talk about a pair of brave women!

(A few years ago Mommy had a similar encounter with a centipede at the back door while feeding Mo late one night. She was screaming so much while trying to catch it that Grandpa said if our neighbor had her window opened she probably thought Mommy was being murdered!)

  1. Mudpie you too would have been a delight to watch if I'd have been a fly on the wall. One thing for sure you both got a little exercise out of that. Hope the bugs stay out now.

  3. Critters can scare you for sure. I kind of chuckled at moms reaction.

Have a purrfect day and rest of the week, Mudpie. ♥

  4. Your centipedes must be different from ours over here. My cats usually run toward them when they are in and I try to save them! And put them outside. You mummy is very brave Mudpie :-D

  5. Hate those things, and darned if they don't move FAST!
They tend to get into the litter box, which is a gross place to be.

  6. Good thing you two aren't in Arizona. When I was there visiting my aunt she reminded me to check my shoes every morning and shake out the scorpions.

  9. I don’t mind them, but if they startle you, it can be rather frightening. I’m glad all is well now.
