I got to sit in on a reading one time at a library. The book was a simple book, but it was read with such energy that all of the children's eyes were lit up. It something I'll always remember. There's no better way to introduce children to the joys of reading -- and in this case, writing. And to answer Sally's question: actually, quite a few of today's children will sit still for a story if it's well-written and well-read (or well-told, in the case of storytellers like Jim Weiss.)Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08639732368395025578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2536122764434872338.post-25702246862053712452013-11-13T15:31:09.906-05:002013-11-13T15:31:09.906-05:00I loved this book.I loved this book.Kaye Killgorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00162169343863584020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2536122764434872338.post-44628911931842343752013-11-12T15:09:10.994-05:002013-11-12T15:09:10.994-05:00My fifth grade teacher read to the class on Friday...My fifth grade teacher read to the class on Friday afternoons.
