Win a Happy Kitty Kit from Morris & 9Lives!

Mudpie: *snoring*

Melissa: Sweetie, wake up!

Mudpie: What's the matter Mommy? I'm practicing some of the sleeping techniques that Morris told us about last week.

Melissa: Well that's why I'm waking you up. I thought you might want to tell our friends about the fun giveaway that Morris is sponsoring!

Mudpie: Giveaway?

Melissa: Remember how as a thank you for working with them 9Lives sent you a "Happy Kitty Kit" filled with cool toys, treats and swag? We asked if we could give away a Happy Kitty Kit to one of our readers but didn't get final permission under after our blog was posted.

Mudpie: That's pawsome! Since you just told everybuddy I'm gonna get back to my nap now. Wanna join me?

Melissa: I just might do that. Ladies do need their beauty sleep, after all!

  2. Mudpie's really saying - "Don't wake me up until spring!" Or, at least, that's what I'm saying!!

  5. Very cute! One of my friends was Morris's caretaker back in the 1990's. He lived with her and she used to take him around the country for appearances. He was a shelter cat originally so very cool.

  6. Mudpie, you look adorable!
I think it would be about 12 hours for sleepy time.

  7. My cat bro Bert should be getting his any day now and we are going to give one away too. Bert is so excited to be working with Morris the Cat, and so is my mom. She loved Morris when she was growing up.

  11. My kitty-boy is quite elderly now so I'd say he sleeps between 16 and 18 hours a day.

  12. We probably snooze away about 16 hours a day.

  13. We have three cats. My senior Maine Coon, Konkeo, likely spends nearly 20 hours a day sleeping (he's old and not very active these days). My Moko - the most affectionate cat we've ever had - probably sleeps about 16-18, while our youngest, Arata (he turned two in November and we just celebrated his Gotta' Day this past weekend) is the most active, so I suspect he sleeps less than 16 hours a day, although he can go from zero to sixty and back to zero in the blink of an eye. I wish I was able to just curl up and fall asleep any place and any time. I have the worst insomnia - especially since I've had to deal with one dog or another needing to go outside frequently and waking me every hour or two since New Year's Day LAST year. Oh, to be a cat without a care in the world.

  15. What a fun giveaway! Thanks, Melissa and Mudpie!

My kitties' sleep schedules are all over the place. From what I can tell, they all must sleep great and get all rested up while I'm at work. Then, when I get home, it's time to party!!! I would say my best sleeper is Thimble, who probably racks up at least 16-18 hours in between cuddle and play sessions. Of course, though, her favorite cuddle time is at about 2 or 3 in the morning. My boy Evan is my shadow, and he pretty much sleeps while I'm at work, then follows me around all lunch hours and in the evening, and then sleeps when I sleep. He probably does close to 16 hours. And then there's Eddy...I think she sleeps while I'm at work, but I don't even know if she sleeps more than a couple hours each night. She just loves to play, and play, and play.

    Purrs, and happy snoozing!

  33. Adorable photo, Mudpie! :) It is really hard to say how often my cats nap. Cinco definitely naps more than Manna does. Cinco is probably about average on that 15 hour mark, but Manna is closer to 10. She is a super active kitty.
