And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

1. I never want to forget any of the cats I've been blessed to share my life with.

2. I have a recurring dream about being at the hospital with Dad. He was there so frequently and I was his advocate so I had to stay there with him as much as possible. I lived in constant fear and dread of his next hospital stay so I think I was traumatized by it.

3. My smoke alarm's instruction manual is the strangest thing in my computer's search history. I managed to make the alarm go off while making an omelet for dinner last night. Poor Mudpie was so petrified she crashed into the step stool I was standing on trying to turn it off. Finally I just pulled the battery out but after putting it back in the alarm would go off again. I had to download the alarm's manual to find out how to make it stay off.

4. I wish I could turn my love of cats and Christmas into a paying job. If I was crafty I would make cat-themed ornaments or cat toys to sell on Etsy.

  1. Very pretty art. I agree with #1 in your fill ins. #3 I have had the smoke alarm go off before and been unable to stop it. I also resorted to taking the batteries out, but even after reading the manual they still kept going off, so we bought a new one.

  2. Looking very arty there Mudpie. Love it :-D

Good answers. I wish I was crafty too. What about cat sitting when folk are on holidays? Was thinking about doing that myself! :-D

  3. I've had the smoke detector do that too. It drives you nuts as you take out the battery that should be good and replace it with a brand new one and the silly thing keeps on screaming. We actually bought a brand new one here a while back that has a 10-year battery in it. I'm hoping it's worth the $50 that we paid.

  4. Hospitals are strange places, and certainly can understand some PTSD from spending a lot of time in one, for someone else.

  5. The artwork is lovely, I really like the colors.

There was an internet meme which said, “Million dollar idea, a smoke detector which shuts itself off when you yell, ‘I’m just cooking!’”

  10. Mom and I are going to be literal toast one day! That is the thing around fire alarms! It got so traumatic for both mom and me, she left it disabled and gave. And does it EVER go off in dight hours? Not around here.
