Meows from Mudpie!
First I want to let everyone know that my cold seems to have run its course and I'm feeling much better. Thank you all so much for the well wishes!
But now Grandpa is in the hospital (again). Late Sunday/early Monday he started exhibiting signs of an infection like he has in the past, but just like so many times before the doctors can't find anything really wrong with him. They're just calling it "failure to thrive". Funny he was doing just fine as of last week! He keeps having these episodes, always around the holidays or during the winter months, and no one can figure out what's causing them.
And just like so many times before now that he's in the hospital he's delirious, talking French and thinking Mommy is his sister. There was one memorable moment though - the only thing he said today that made any sense (sort of) was pointing out an (invisible) cat at the foot of his hospital bed and saying it looked like Mudpie! So he doesn't know who anyone is but he remembers little ol' me! I have that effect on people :)
Oh, and tonight Mommy was getting ready to reheat some soup in a saucepan for dinner. I was lying on the floor in front of the sink when she knocked the saucepan off the counter and it landed upside down on my back! I was rather annoyed but she laughed and laughed (which she desperately needed) and said at least she hadn't put the soup in the pan yet!
Please send purrs and prayers that Grandpa comes home soon and things can get back to normal for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We love the holiday season so much and it seems like every year something happens to ruin it.

Here's hoping that the docs find a solution asap!
Mudpie, that must have been a rude scare for you, however it was worth the belly laugh that it gave your meowmy.

We send purrs and prayers for Grampa and you and Mommy too. And we are glad the saucepan episode only caused some much needed laughter.
I am praying for your grandpa to get well soon. A lot of times UTI's make people delirious. XO
Sending many purrs and prayers for your grandpa, Mudpie.
We're so sorry that Grandpa is in the hospital, Mudpie. We're definitely purring and praying that he will get better very soon. XO
I will pray for Grandpa and for your holiday season. It's so hard to go through these things.
Glad to hear that you're over your cold and you forgave your human for dropping the saucepan on you. You know laughing does for humans some of the things purring does for cats, don't you? Healing Purrs for the Grandpa. No real human ever gets old enough to be ready to lose a parent. I myself wouldn't want to be kept alive after I'd lost awareness of who people were and what was happening, but we all lose awareness every time we fall asleep and get it back; I hope the Grandpa recovers his mind after the medicine wears off.
Sending tons of POTP for your Grandpa, and prayers for a speedy recovery. Does he see/have a specialist Gerontologist? Elderly people are so super sensitive to even tiny changes in the environment and medicines.
We sure are glad that saucepan was empty, and didn't hurt more then your feelings, Mudpie! Maybe you'd better keepaway from your Mom while she handles such dangerous things, MOL
Purrs and Prayers from me and Mom. We hope Grandpa gets well soon.
We're glad you feel better, sweet Mudpie. Sorry your Grandpaw is in the hospital again. Here come Healing Pawkisses for your Grandpaw and purrayers to feel better soon๐๐พ๐ฝ๐
