Too Much Sadness #CaturdayArt

Meows from Mudpie!

Losing our blogging friends hurts any time of the year, but it seems especially painful before Christmas. Mommy says it can be a really hard time for people too, as they remember loved ones, both 2-legged and 4-legged, that they can no longer celebrate the holiday with.

We told you yesterday about the unexpected passing of Easy Rider, who planned the fun Come Fly With Me Sammy blog hop that we participated in yesterday. Well, after visiting all our blogs, precious little Sammy was helped to the Bridge to join his dear friend. Earlier this week we also lost beautiful Treasure over at Mickey's Musings, and Fiona at The Cat on My Head isn't doing well at all, and she's way too young for all she's having to deal with.

So much heartache at what should be the happiest time of the year. I'm a sad tortie.

And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader!

Mommy's answers:

1. I have a hard time finding a gift for my dad. He's hopeless. All I ever hear is, "I don't need anything." Christmas isn't about what you need...it's about what you want!

2. I have no problem finding a gift for my mom. We're so much alike all I need to do is buy something that I'd love!

Mudpie's answers:

3. One of the best gifts I ever gave was the gift of ME...what else does Mommy need???

4. One of the best gifts I ever received was my forever home.

I agree about how sad it has been in the blogosphere this week. We are losing way too many pals. :-(

We, too, have felt so saddened by all of the losses and sicknesses. This time of year truly is the toughest with which to deal with this. It is meant to be such a happy and joyous season, but sometimes sadness finds its way in anyway. We always try to count our blessings, though, and we always do our best to purr and pray and send warm wishes to all of our friends here. Easy, Sammy, Treasure, Fiona, their families, and everyone who needs our purrs and prayers certainly has them.

Your fill-in answers are fabulous, as always. Melissa, you and I really do have so much in common. Our answers to #1 and #2 are so incredibly similar. And, Mudpie, your answers are too purrfect!

It has been a very sad week, and your artwork fits the mood perfectly. It's so hard to lose friends. And Melissa, you're so right--it's impossible to buy for the person who says he/she "doesn't need anything"!

Heartfelt sympathy for all the losses. I've known that pain, this year.

You are so right, Mudpie and Mom Melissa. There have been way too many of our friends going to the Bridge lately. :(

It is a sad time, and it is doubly so because of all the merriment the World is showing us. Mom knows that part is an illusion as we all carry within us things that make the Holidays hard. Sometimes if that is what you are feeling you shouldn't feel guilty over it, especially during this "festive" time. We are so sad by the losses recently there have been too many. We are purring for the families whose hearts are a little less bright.

Thank you for including Fiona's new badge here. We are so sorry that it came too late. We hope you will understand the reason for our postponing the announcement. Mudpie, your fill-in completions were spot on and exactly how each of us would have completed those. We won't say that you look sad, but more contemplative and definitely gorgeous. This is a stunning work of art. Sending lots of love and special thanks. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth ad Calista Jo
