Last week Mommy moved all my stuff out of the kitchen so she could mop the floor. 

Did I move out of the way? NOPE! She mopped around me. She can clean this spot another time.

Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails blog hop! What a disgustingly hot and humid summer we're having. Mommy is counting down the days until it's over. 

How exciting is this...5 months from today is Christmas Day! (I'm trying to think cool thoughts.)

My blooper this month is another selfie fail. My brain was obviously melting as I pointed the camera towards the sun, and then I moved my head at the last minute. The rest of my body stayed put though so it's not totally blurry!

Every morning when Mommy opens the door for the day we look for Mo. This time of year he's usually waiting for his breakfast in the driveway or appears shortly after he hears the door open.

Mommy helped me snap this selfie just as I first spotted him yesterday morning. It's no secret that I don't really like other cats, but I don't mind Mo. He's a good egg and I know that he needs Mommy.

Feline Friday Flashback: Mudpie's Summer Clubhouse

We first posted this photo 4 years ago today, on July 18, 2021. This big box still lives in our front hall, but I don't use it as much as I used to. Mommy says she could use it for storage, but since I still take a nap in it once in awhile it stays right where it is. 

This is what I said about it in my original post -

I commandeered this super cool Walmart box that arrived a couple weeks ago. I've got some stuffies in here, fun crinkle paper to sleep on, and my Tower of Tracks toy is just outside on my front porch. I even get snacks and squeezies in here. The only thing I have to leave it for is to use the little girl's room! It fits me purrfectly, and it's all mine. NO BOYZ ALLOWED!

Christmas in July

Today we want to thank the wonderful Miss Ellen of 15 and Meowing for the pawsome Christmas in July package she sent us.

She sent Mommy a DVD containing a movie on NASCAR legend Richard Petty, Nightmare Before Christmas sticker sheets, and loads of kitty stickers, and she sent me the cutest little watermelon toy we've ever seen...

...which I look forward to playing with if the temperature ever dips below elebenty billion degrees again! 

We can't thank Miss Ellen and her kitties enough for always thinking of us during Christmas in July and picking out the most purrfect gifts!

Tara & Truffles...Forever Loved, Forever Missed

 

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the day my baby girl Truffles flew off to the bridge, and the 12th anniversary of the day her big sister Tara paved the way before her.

It goes without saying this is the hardest day of the year for me. Comprehending the tragic set of circumstances that took Truffles from me far before her time is something I will always struggle with, and most likely something I will never be able to accept. She deserved so much more from life. And the fact that I lost them both on the same day two years apart makes me wish I could scratch this date right off the calendar.

In honor of my precious girls, please give your own fur babies a little something special today. Maybe an extra hug or kiss, a few more minutes of play or cuddle time, extra treats wouldn't hurt either.

Our time together is so fleeting; their fragile lives all too short. Never miss an opportunity to show them how much they're loved.

Mo is Melting Too

Yo! It's Mo!

I keep hearing that prissy pampered housecat Mudpie complaining that she's melting in the house.

If she thinks that's bad, she should try taking her afternoon siesta in the driveway! I'm melting too.
