Can you believe we're at the end of August? I hate to admit it, but summer has seemed to go by faster than usual this year! 

My blooper this month was taken during one of my many vet visits this summer. Mommy decided to pass the time waiting for my torturer by taking an ussie. I'm not looking at the camera, Mommy isn't even in the shot, but the wall and ceiling look just fine!

Mommy will be leaving me for a few hours today for her aunt's funeral. We spend so much time together now that it's just the two of us I don't know who misses who more when she has to leave the house! We're completely codependent on each other.

Mommy snapped this picture after we got home from the vet last Friday and I collapsed from utter exhaustion. (After all, I didn't get nearly enough sleep the night before when she drugged me!)

Once she looked at the picture she started laughing hysterically because it looks like my butt is plugged into the extension cord!

Squeezie Table Selfie Flops #PetPhotoFails

We've been super lucky with the weather so far this summer. We've had a few hot days, but they've all been followed by a drop in temperature. We've only had to turn the AC on two days! It has been a very unusual June, but it looks like the party's over. They're predicting 90 with high humidity just as July makes its unwelcome arrival. Good thing Summerween and Christmas in July are here! 

Both of my bloopers this month were taken from my squeezie table while Mommy was trying to help me snap a selfie. Of course I wasn't about to sit still - she had a squeezie!!!

Bad news - I have to go back to the vet this afternoon! I was just there 2 weeks ago! Today is about fun bloopers though so I'll fill you in later.

Mommy snapped this picture the other day while I was sunbathing with the door open a crack. It turned out all sorts of wrong! My head looks like it fell out the door and there's a shadow of Mommy's phone on my side. This should've just been deleted.

The weather in my neck of the woods is just purrfect right now. It's warm and sunny during the daytime so I can do lots of sunbathing, and the evenings are still nice and chilly so Mommy and I can sneak in some cuddle time. Wish it could be like this year round! 

My blooper this month came when I was trying to snap a selfie. Looks like I hit the button before I was ready!

Mommy also wanted to me share this picture of her hand and arm to further explain my holding on post from Wednesday.  What can I say? I don't want her getting away. Little does she know this is my handwriting and it says, "Property of Mudpie!"

Looking Shocked #PetPhotoFails

Do I look shocked in my blurry photo today? There's a good reason! 

Mommy brushes me a lot and I love it, but she rarely tackles my chest and tummy. I can't reach them all that well so I've developed a lot of knots. Every day when Mommy rubs my tummy while I'm on her lap she says we need to do something about those knots. 

Yesterday I was sitting in front of her and she could even *see* the knots on my chest, so she grabbed a comb and when I climbed into her lap she went to work. Look what she got off!!! I was shocked! 

Mommy says my tummy feels so much softer now. Good thing warmer weather is coming or I might freeze to death! As it is I'm pretty sure I lost a pound in fur.

What a Face, Mudpie! #PetPhotoFails

Woohoo, we've almost made it through meteorological winter! It's supposed to be in the 40s tomorrow (heat wave!), then in the 20s on Sunday and Monday, then climbing back up through next week. We're not out of the woods yet though - our area is notorious for getting a big storm in mid March. We did manage to escape the northeast blizzard without a single flake, thankfully. We still have a lot of snow on the ground from previous storms though. It'll be quite awhile before any grass pokes through! 

My blooper this month is a real doozy. Not only is it blurry, but what a hideous expression on my normally precious little face! I have no idea what was going on to illicit such a reaction. More than likely Mommy was denying me a snack.

Heart Melting #PetPhotoFails

Is it spring yet? We love winter at our house but this year we're hoping for an early spring. On Sunday night/Monday morning we got 15.6 inches of snow! Thankfully it was super light and fluffy so Mommy was able to shovel our driveway. Plus it's been brutally cold with wind chills in the teens and twenties below zero. I can't even have my back door open a crack for a hint of daylight!

The only good thing about this winter has been the extra time Mommy and I have been able to cuddle. Now that Mommy doesn't have Grandpa to take care of she says she has so many things she wants to do around the house, but I hop on her lap and hold her down for hours. She's not complaining though. She can get her work done come spring when I'm busy catching some rays!

My favorite way to lounge on her lap is with her right arm tucked underneath me so I can rest my head in the crook of her elbow. The other night we were watching TV and I reached out and put my paw on top of her hand. Mommy's heart melted into a puddle. It was way too dark to take a decent picture (we did a ton of brightening here) but Mommy had to grab her camera (with her left hand) to capture that precious moment.

My Litter Box Attacked Me! #PetPhotoFails

Can you believe it's time for the final Pet Photo Fails blog hop of the year?

My blooper this month isn't so much a photo, but a moment that needs to be retold...

For the past 6 months we've been using pine pellets for litter from Tractor Supply. It's gone really well - Mommy was happy that I took to it right away - but the pellets are quite lightweight compared to clay litter so she always figured I would upend my litter box one day.

Well, that day came on Monday evening. She was on her laptop in the living room and I went into the bathroom to do my number twos. (She can always tell what I've done by how much scratching goes on.) After I did my business and finished covering it up I jumped out of my potty and Mommy heard a slamming noise that instantly told her my litter box had tipped over. 

She expected a mess to clean up in the bathroom, what she didn't expect was...

ME flying out of the bathroom COVERED in the sawdust from the pine pellet litter!!! Thank Cod there's no photographic evidence. I looked like those photos and videos you see online of cats that have gotten into the flour or sugar in the kitchen! Then once I reached the living room I shook myself to get as much off as I could! 

Mommy started laughing hysterically! To her credit, she cleaned me off first, then the bathroom, then she had to vacuum the living room rug. She's still laughing hysterically as she writes about it!

Not funny, Mommy. Not funny at all. That was traumatic!

Who's going shopping today? As you're reading this, Mommy and I are most likely still snuggling in bed. Any Christmas shopping we do today will be online. As Mommy says, it's way too peopley out there!

This picture was taken at night so it's super dark but too cute not to share. I was trying to point out to Mommy that my squeezie dish was empty by partly lying in it. See how my foot is right in the dish? If there was a squeezie in there I wouldn't be able to do that.

Happy Halloween 2025

Today is also the last Friday of the month, which means it's time for the Pet Photo Fails blog hop! 

This picture is super dark and you might not even be able to see what I was doing, but it was just too cute not to share. I was resting my head on my favorite mug of water, and fell asleep like that! Mommy told me not to drop my head in any further or I might drown!

My blooper this month is another selfie fail. My brain was obviously melting as I pointed the camera towards the sun, and then I moved my head at the last minute. The rest of my body stayed put though so it's not totally blurry!

How is everyone surviving the heat? We hit 99 on Monday and 96 on Tuesday...in northern Vermont! HISS!!! 

Mommy is living for the fact that Halloween is starting to hit store shelves, and Christmas in July is right around the corner.

Our blooper this month is a real doozy, and a total Mommy fail. When she found it on her camera roll we laughed and laughed. I see one of Mommy's fingers, her legs and feet...and oh yeah, there's a Mudpie there somewhere too, but I can't even tell if that's my head or butt! 

Mommy's trigger finger obviously had a mind of its own when this one was taken...

Mother Nature seems to be going through hot flashes lately. Either it's in the 50s and our furnace kicks on, or it's in the 80s and the fan is on. No happy medium. Today Mommy is putting our AC in because she knows we'll be needing it before long.

Our blooper this month was taken in the back yard one day while Mommy was looking around at what work needed to be done. Suddenly she noticed a pop of orange hiding among the foliage - sweet Mo!

He was sound asleep and Mommy didn't want to startle him so she wasn't able to get a very good picture, but she wanted to capture the moment.

I'm excited too because my 10th Gotcha Day is coming up this summer, and Mommy says she's working on getting me a special gift that we can enjoy together. I wonder what she's planning? I'll fill you in when I know more! 

It seems like the majority of my bloopers come while trying to take a selfie, and this month is no exception. I don't even know what the first picture is, but it was on Mommy's camera roll!

Making Lemonade Out Of Lemons #PetPhotoFails

Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails Blog Hop! I don't know about you, but I for one am ready to say goodbye to "meteorological winter". It's been a very cold winter here in our neck of the woods - not record breaking cold but much colder than our past few mild winters - and I can't wait for some window whiffies! 

 

My blooper photo this month was supposed to be dramatic with the bright sun behind me, but the effect just didn't work. You can't even see my beautiful face! 

The more we looked at it though, we did notice something we really liked. Look at how totally adorbs my little right foot is! My left leg and foot are all black, but my right side is 100% tortilicious!
