Blurry Bloopers #PetPhotoFails

Meows from Mudpie!

Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails blog hop! This month has been pretty busy for us, with Mommy visiting grandpa at rehab nearly every day. His tentative discharge date is July 9. We'll take all the purrs we can get that this time it's for keeps!

My fails this month were taken the day I opened my CatLadyBox. Lots of blurry shots, as per usual! Although oddly enough, only my head appears to be blurry...

Those are my bloopers...let's see yours!

Bathing Beauty

Meows from Mudpie!

Why are humans so obsessed with watching us kitties bathe? It's kinda creepy! I mean sure, we watch you bathe too, but we're not taking video of it!!! Thankfully Mommy didn't capture me washing any private areas.

Melted Mudpie #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

Like much of the country, we were under a heat dome this past week. On Wednesday the heat index hit 105 degrees!!! In northern Vermont!!!

I melted...

1. My preferred method of procrastination is surfing the web or watching TV.

2. I always procrastinate when I am supposed to make a phone call. I dread making phone calls and put them off for as long as possible.

3. My goal of decluttering paperwork is going really well. I now get all of my bank statements and the majority of my bills online, but I have years and years worth of bank statements, pay stubs, and medical records that I haven't known what to do with. It's not safe to just recycle them, and even if I bought a shredder it would take ages to do it all myself. I found out a local shredding company holds free shredding events throughout the state, and in September they'll be close by. I put it on my calendar, and one of my summer projects is to go through as much old paperwork as possible. I already have a full box!

4. If I opened a cat cafe/book shop, I would name it Mochas, Mysteries and Meows!

From the Outside Looking In #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

It's pretty obvious I live by the back door in the summer (Mommy calls the back hall my summer apartment). Yesterday she helped me snap this selfie while she was outside looking in at me.

I don't think we ever told you - when grandpa fell a few weeks ago, it was right before his home health nurse was due to visit. Mommy met her at the door and explained what had happened, and the nurse rushed in to help get him off the floor. It was a good 5 minutes later before Mommy realized she hadn't made sure the back door was latched. Sure enough - the nurse had come in so fast the door didn't shut behind her, but I was just lying in the hall looking out the way I always do when Mommy holds it open for me.

She kept telling me over and over what a purrfect little angel I am because I didn't take the opportunity to go on a walkabout. I would never do that. I know how much Mommy needs me.

1. My caregiving ability, especially with animals, is a quality of mine that I am proud of.

2. Lack of patience is a quality of mine I would like to change. I always say when God handed out patience I didn't have the patience to stand in line for it!

3. Though I find ball sports boring, racing sports (auto, horse) really interest me.

4. Believe it or not, I deal with decluttering on a regular basis. I've made quite a bit of progress lately, but there's still so much to do.

Unboxing May's CatLadyBox

The theme of May's CatLadyBox was Cat Mom Life...here's what was inside!

Featured Cat Lady Artist:
Jamie Shelman, The Dancing Cat

Cat Mom Shirt:
Cat mom, always and forever! Love the mint green color.

Cats Sign:
I have wooden black cat silhouettes in various poses over many doorways in my house so this is a wonderful addition to my collection. I have it perched over my kitchen door.

Cat Craze Dish Towel:
This is hanging in the bathroom as a decorative towel for now :)

I Love My Cat Magnet:
This magnet is outdoor safe to use on the car, but it's on my fridge with loads of other cat magnets.

Happy Hedgie & Meowy Side Up Catnip Toys:
Both of these toys are SO adorable. We posted pictures of Mudpie checking them out on Wednesday. Lots of bloopers to come too!

Scratch-In-The-Box:
Cats love hanging out in their CatLadyBox (Mudpie sure does!) and this scratch pad fits inside purrfectly. Brilliant idea!

Checking Out My CatLadyBox Loot

Mine. All Mine!

Hello Mr. Hedgehog...

This catnip egg was delish.

It made Mommy's t-shirt smell wonderful too!

I might've inhaled. Getting very sleepy...

Face plant! Mudpie, over and out...

Turn the Sun Back On #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

I was enjoying a sunbath in the back door and all of a sudden it started raining! You can see how displeased I was.

RUDE!!!

And now our weekly answers (all answered by Mommy this week) for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

1. If I were a cat, I would hiss at everyone. In so many situations I have to force myself to be pleasant, whereas if I were a cat I could be my true self!

2. The Country Christmas Loft is a hidden gem in my part of the country. Just a few miles down the road from me, it's a 14 room Christmas shop wrapped around a replica New England village. (This is a photo I took the last time I was there.)

3. Dad's rehab facility went downhill after dogs were banned. Remember Rosebud from dad's original stay at rehab? When he went back last week there was a "No Dogs Allowed" sign on the front door. Apparently Rosebud growled at another dog when the elevator doors opened and she and her owner were escorted out the building. Her owner is filing a complaint over how condescending, unnecessary, and unprofessional the whole situation was, and I support her 100%! It was purely a discriminatory overreaction by staff because Rosebud is a pittie. So now no dogs are allowed in the building.

4. Cat shirts and jeans are the most worn item in my wardrobe.

Feline Friday Flashback: A Decade of Donuts

Meows from Mudpie!

This afternoon before Mommy visits Grandpa at rehab she'll be stopping at Dunkin' Donuts for her freebie just as she's always done on National Donut Day.

Mommy's favorite memory of this day came 10 years ago when Angel Truffles was quite perturbed to sneak a peek inside the bag to find that not even a taste of custard had been left for her from the Boston cream donut.

Her look said it all...Shame on you, Mommy.

Now that I think about it...I've never been offered a taste of custard (or donut) either! I might not like it, but how will I know for sure if I'm never asked? Does it come in squeezie flavor???

Book Review: The Little Book Of Extraordinary Cats by Anita Kelsey

Discover the captivating world of fabulous felines in The Little Book Of Extraordinary Cats. Join Anita Kelsey on a journey through fifteen remarkable tales celebrating the courage, resilience, and affection of our beloved feline companions, from pioneering space traveller Félicette to therapy cat London Meow. Whether you’re a cat lover or seeking heart-warming stories of human-animal connections, this book is a must-read.

This sweet little book is a must read for any and all cat lovers. The cover alone is as adorable as can be, and the stories inside are just as delightful. Some are humorous, others are heartbreaking, but each one shows how truly extraordinary our feline friends are.

Some kitties in the book have social media pages that I went on to follow. Others I was familiar with, such as Scarlett who saved her kittens from a fire (I actually remember this very well from when it happened), and Felicette who was sent to space. The tragic fate of some cats in the book serve as an important reminder of why they need to be kept inside. I enjoyed reading the Honorable Mentions at the end of each chapter too.

If you adore cats this book needs a spot on your bookshelf!

3. I haven’t had much luck with anything lately.
