And now our weekly answers (all answered by Mommy this week) for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

1. If I were a cat, I would hiss at everyone. In so many situations I have to force myself to be pleasant, whereas if I were a cat I could be my true self!

2. The Country Christmas Loft is a hidden gem in my part of the country. Just a few miles down the road from me, it's a 14 room Christmas shop wrapped around a replica New England village. (This is a photo I took the last time I was there.)

3. Dad's rehab facility went downhill after dogs were banned. Remember Rosebud from dad's original stay at rehab? When he went back last week there was a "No Dogs Allowed" sign on the front door. Apparently Rosebud growled at another dog when the elevator doors opened and she and her owner were escorted out the building. Her owner is filing a complaint over how condescending, unnecessary, and unprofessional the whole situation was, and I support her 100%! It was purely a discriminatory overreaction by staff because Rosebud is a pittie. So now no dogs are allowed in the building.

4. Cat shirts and jeans are the most worn item in my wardrobe.

Feline Friday Flashback: A Decade of Donuts

Meows from Mudpie!

This afternoon before Mommy visits Grandpa at rehab she'll be stopping at Dunkin' Donuts for her freebie just as she's always done on National Donut Day.

Mommy's favorite memory of this day came 10 years ago when Angel Truffles was quite perturbed to sneak a peek inside the bag to find that not even a taste of custard had been left for her from the Boston cream donut.

Her look said it all...Shame on you, Mommy.

Now that I think about it...I've never been offered a taste of custard (or donut) either! I might not like it, but how will I know for sure if I'm never asked? Does it come in squeezie flavor???

Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is:

Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (They may be silly or cute).

Book Review: The Little Book Of Extraordinary Cats by Anita Kelsey

Discover the captivating world of fabulous felines in The Little Book Of Extraordinary Cats. Join Anita Kelsey on a journey through fifteen remarkable tales celebrating the courage, resilience, and affection of our beloved feline companions, from pioneering space traveller FĂ©licette to therapy cat London Meow. Whether you’re a cat lover or seeking heart-warming stories of human-animal connections, this book is a must-read.

This sweet little book is a must read for any and all cat lovers. The cover alone is as adorable as can be, and the stories inside are just as delightful. Some are humorous, others are heartbreaking, but each one shows how truly extraordinary our feline friends are.

Some kitties in the book have social media pages that I went on to follow. Others I was familiar with, such as Scarlett who saved her kittens from a fire (I actually remember this very well from when it happened), and Felicette who was sent to space. The tragic fate of some cats in the book serve as an important reminder of why they need to be kept inside. I enjoyed reading the Honorable Mentions at the end of each chapter too.

If you adore cats this book needs a spot on your bookshelf!

1. I feel scared and overwhelmed when I think of the future. Both for the world and personally.

2. Being an excellent cat mom is my greatest achievement.

3. I haven’t had much luck with anything lately.

4. Afternoon and evening is the time of day when I feel the most productive.
