Opt to Adopt: Ray Charles & Sister Rachel

Dogs N Pawz

Welcome to Tuesday's Tails, sponsored by Dogs N Pawz.
We are a group of bloggers who want to bring awareness to an animal each week who is need of a home of their own.

Hey everybody, it's Truffles! Did you know that Mommy has a soft spot for blind kitties? It all started when she read Homer's Odyssey and continues to this day with Princess Odilia, so when we read about Ray and Rachel's plight we knew we wanted to help.

Ray and Rachel were rescued from a feral cat colony in a trailer park in Greenville, SC. It was a horrible place where the residents mistreated the cats but these two innocent souls survived.

Both kittens were born with a genetic condition called Entropian, which affects the eyelids and causes them to fold inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the cornea and irritate it. They had surgery and Rachel can see perfectly now. We're not sure how well Ray can see, but that doesn't stop him from being a typically playful and mischievous kitten. It has been said many times that you don't need eyes to see love, and that is all these babies need...a forever home to give them all the love they can handle!

They must be adopted together. They are up to date on shots, spayed and neutered, healthy, and even come with their very own hope chest containing gift cards, canned food, blankies, and toys. Transportation can be arranged to the right home in the United States.

It's a big ol' world out there, but the great thing about social media is how quickly we can spread the word about animals in need, and it only takes one person in the right place at the right time to lay their eyes on their next furry soul mate. Mommy fell in love with me just by viewing my Petfinder profile! Love at first sight does happen!!!

We can all make a difference. Please share the attached flyer wherever you can so as many eyes as possible get to see sweet little Ray and Rachel.

You can read more about them via their foster home's blog.  You can also follow Sister Rachel and Ray Charles on their Facebook page or at their blog - #TheFindingHomeTour. Please spread the word and share!
