Thanks for mentioning the anthology. BTW, I can't remember if it's mentioned in the short story or not, but right before this story happens, Helen adopts a cat that's as antisocial as she is (except with her, of course). How she ended up with the cat is part of the third Helen Binney mystery, with a tentative release date of late April.
