September Retro Country Rewind #MewsicMovesMe

Last year we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. We have so much fun gathering the songs for it and hope you enjoy our selections.

Let's take a look at September for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...

45 Years Ago - 1975, Feelins', Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn

If I told you that I loved you
Could we slip away where the lights are low
And if I put my arms around you
And held you close could you tell me no

Take me away, Conway...

40 Years Ago - 1980, Lookin' for Love, Johnny Lee

(From the Urban Cowboy soundtrack)

35 Years Ago - 1985, I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me, Rosanne Cash

(I've selected 3 songs from 1985 because I couldn't choose a favorite. I love them all equally!)

35 Years Ago - 1985, Modern Day Romance, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

35 Years Ago - 1985, I Fell In Love Again Last Night, Forester Sisters

We hope you enjoyed our picks this week! Let us know if you have a favorite!

We can always listen to Johnny Cash... Other than that, we are Simon&Garfunkle or Beatles, MOL!

Those were all good tunes! We hadn't thought of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in a long time.

Nice to see a clip with John Travolta- I used to like him back then.

M&M,

I haven't heard anything from Rosanne Cash in a long time. I had forgotten what a good sound she had in the 80s. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is another 80s group that surprised me."I Fell In Love Again Last Night"...WOW, I haven't heard that on in a coon's age. You're really rocking the dance floor with the sounds of the 80s. What a decade for good mewsic! Thanks for joining the 4M crew this week, furriends. Have a boogietastic week!

Believe it or not I really fell in love last night with this song! OMG It's awesome. I played it for my hubby and he was upset until I told him I could play this every day and it would never change. I did fall in love with him last night and every last night! God bless my husband. He's a sweetie & takes very good care of me! 35 Years Ago - 1985, Modern Day Romance, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band really was a favorite of mine. I wasn't a Country girl, but I have been on and off. Some tunes are always in my heart. Lookin' for Love, Johnny Lee love it, and hmmmmm Modern Day Romance, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band oh yeah, a cowboy song through and through and definitely a huggy song dancin' with your man! Woo Hoo! You go girl, these are fan-tab-u-lous as my granddaughter would say! GREAT JOB AND THANKS FOR THE BOOGIE... Bet you could've done that cowboy shuffle to many of these for sure! Big hugs to ya girlfriend! HUGS

Many of these "X years ago" posts make me wonder where all the time went. In this case "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places" wins my vote. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
