Abandoned #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

Some of our friends have asked for an update on how my grandma and grandpa are doing, so here's the latest...

Grandpa has been in rehab for the past 2 weeks, and is doing well. He might even come home by the end of the week, 8 weeks after going to the hospital! (Today is also his birthday, btw...)

Grandma came home for a week, but then on Monday had to go back to the hospital because she was feeling terrible again. Turns out she now has a bacterial infection from the antibiotics she was given, called c. diff. (If anyone has any experience with this, please let us know! We've been reading some really scary stuff about it and how hard it is to get rid of.) Let's just say she's spending a lotta time using the litter box.

I feel like I've been abandoned with neither of them around, and Mommy always running around visiting one or the other of them. When she is home she spends lots of time on the phone updating friends and family on what's going on. (Speaking of the litter box...I'd like to bury her phone in MINE!)

Mommy keeps telling me that grandma and grandpa miss me as much as I miss them, but I just can't understand how anyone could leave this precious 'lil face behind.

I sure will be happy when my family is all back together again, and the focus can be back on ME, as it should be!

We're joining our friends at The Cat On My Head for the Sunday Selfies blog hop!

Mudpie, we wish the update was not quite so sad sounding. That both your grandparents are still not very well. And your mommy is probably going out of her mind with worry. You be there to give her lots of purrs and pets. And tell her not to get sick because there's way too much going on.

Glad to hear your Grandpa is doing well, Mudpie. Wish him Happy Birthday from Us, please.
Mummy's nephew, who is currently living in LA, has also been a victim of C-diff and his recovery has also been very slow. It is furry worrying indeed.

Here's hoping he can have a good celebration soon with you!

Mudpie, Lynn remembered a woman last year who had been on antibiotics for covid and bronchitus, and got c. diff. They put her on stronger antibiotics for a few weeks, miserable unfortunately, however this did cure it. Hope that is all your Grandma has to do.

Gorgeous selfie. Happy Birthday to Grandpa. I hope they both get home soon. My dad has c-diff once and it was awful. We had to wear gloves and paper gowns to visit him because it is very contagious. XO

I was going to ax your mommy how her folks were doing. Now I know. TW and Pop abandoned me 3 times this week. The worst was Monday when they were gone 12 hours. Hopefully her bloodz are doing better and it will only be one and done this week. She still wants to sleep all day.

I know you will be used to having your Grandma and Grandpa close by so this is tough and I am sorry. I send my bet wishes for quick(er) recovery time so they can be home and cuddle you a LOT.

Sending Grandma and Grandpa love and purrs and you the same, Mudpie. We suffer in our own ways when our parents do. XXXX

Bacterial infection *from* the antibiotic? Is that even possible?!

Stay well and out of trouble, Mudpie. Humans have to do whatever is necessary when their parents aren't well.
