And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

1. I have trouble pronouncing Worcestershire.

2. I tend to confuse which direction to turn something to loosen it with which direction to tighten it. I always have to say, "right tight, left loose" to myself.

3. I quit piano lessons because I didn't enjoy it.

4. Currently, I can't get something I overheard a neighbor say about me out of my mind. I don't like this guy in the first place - he's prone to very rude comments right to your face so I'm not surprised by what he says behind your back - but one of these days he's going to hit me in just the right mood and I'm going to tell him what I think of him.

No Kitty Here #PetPhotoFails

Meows from Mudpie!

Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails blog hop!

Mother Nature seems to be going through hot flashes lately. Either it's in the 50s and our furnace kicks on, or it's in the 80s and the fan is on. No happy medium. Today Mommy is putting our AC in because she knows we'll be needing it before long.

Our blooper this month was taken in the back yard one day while Mommy was looking around at what work needed to be done. Suddenly she noticed a pop of orange hiding among the foliage - sweet Mo!

He was sound asleep and Mommy didn't want to startle him so she wasn't able to get a very good picture, but she wanted to capture the moment.

That's our blooper...let's see yours!

"Helping" with Household Chores

Meows from Mudpie!

On Monday Mommy decided to mop the kitchen and dining room floors. Of course that meant she had to pick up all of my stuff - my pizza box, Grandpa's old coat, another flattened box, my cardboard scratcher...

She put everything in a pile to carry into the living room, so what did I do? I plopped down on top of the pile to protect my stuff!

Memorial Day 2025

"We can never replace them. We can never repay them. But we can always remember. And today, that is what we are doing — we remember. Words cannot wipe away the tears or bring back those smiling faces. But if Americans just take the time to look into your eyes and tell you how much we thank you and how dearly we pray for you and how truly we love you, then hopefully you can find solace through your pain. And every time you see the sun rise over this blessed land please know your brave sons and daughters pushed away the night and delivered for us all that great and glorious dawn."

1. A day without a cat is like a day without air. To me, being around cats is just that important.

2. I find it rude when someone asks me personal questions.

3. I like to leave parties/get-togethers as early as possible. Actually I'd rather not even go most of the time! I saw a button recently that said, "Sorry I'm late. I didn't want to come."

4. I tend to run late when never! I'm that annoying person that is always early. (The earlier you get there, the earlier you can leave!)

Happy 18th Gotcha Day, Angel Tara!

Meows from Mudpie!

Angel Tara was adopted 18 years ago today! She was Mommy's very first tortie, and all these years later I'm the lucky tortie in her life. Tara paved the way!

Post Thunderboomer #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

Yesterday morning we had a bad thunderboomer while I was lounging in the back door. Rain came in the screen - I got wet! - and it was super loud. I was scared. I complained to Mommy and then waited in the kitchen until it was over.

We're joining our friends at The Cat on My Head for the Sunday Selfies blog hop!

1. You know you are in my house when you see cat knickknacks everywhere.

2. I am pleased with Frndly TV. It's so, so, so much cheaper than cable, and gives me nearly all the channels I need.

3. I wish I had the superpower of animal communication so that I could make sure to always know what they need.

4. I still have just about everything from my childhood. Mom never got rid of everything, so now it's mine again!

Taking My New Wheels Out for a Spin

Meows from Mudpie!

Remember how I mentioned recently that Mommy was buying me something special for my upcoming 10th Gotcha Day later this summer?

Here it is...my very own pet stroller so I can go outside!

Mommy has been wanting to get me one for a long time. As you all know, I love lounging at the back door during the summer with the sun pouring in on me, and I especially love when Mommy holds the door open for me so I can get all the smells from the neighborhood. She thought I might enjoy going out in a stroller, but was also worried that it might scare me.

The stroller came a couple weeks ago and we started out using it in the house. The first day she put me in it, I jumped right back out. The next day she put me in it again and I laid down. A couple days later she put me in it, zipped it up, and drove me around the house in it!

I handled it so well that on Monday we finally went outside with it. Not gonna lie - I was quite apprehensive. Cars and trucks are LOUD, and in the back of my mind I thought maybe this was a new way of going to the V-E-T. Mommy just drove me up and down the driveway while I took in all the sights, then we stayed put for awhile so I could sit in the sun. All in all I handled it quite well, so hopefully before long we can start going for walks in the neighborhood.

I think I look rather stylish, don't you? A tortie in a leopard print stroller! So chic!

The Sketchy Christmas Tree by Lucy Carol ~ Blog Tour with Book Review & Giveaway

Out on a limb for a killer!

In the whimsical small town of Bisque, filled with fur babies and friendly faces, the unthinkable can still happen, and somewhere a body drops. But also in Bisque, Sir Percival, a dapper cat detective with a gentleman’s code, stands sentinel.

One fateful night, amid Christmas lights and glittering snowflakes, Sir Percival’s vigilant gaze spots an intruder in dark shadows, silently stalking the home of a neighbor where a spirited little dog resides. But following the intruder leads to a shocking discovery—a dead body.

To protect their humans, Sir Percival and the little dog, Fidget, will have to unravel clues that lead them through a web of betrayal, eccentric neighbors, and buried secrets!

This charming holiday story made it feel like Christmas in the middle of spring!

Sir Percival is excited to help his devoted humans put up their tree, but after all the work has been done and everyone has retired for the night, he witnesses some strange goings on across the street. Fancying himself a cat detective, he slips out of the house and makes a shocking discovery. Teaming up with neighboring pup Fidget, Sir Percival has his paws full trying to keep those he loves safe while hot on the trail of a killer.

This is a short read filled with mystery, suspense, adventure, even a bit of romance! Sir Percival proves himself to be an ace cat detective, and I look forward to his future cases.

Mother's Day #CaturdayArt #SundaySelfie

Meows from Mudpie!

Since I'd like to have a little extra quality time with Mommy for Mother's Day, I asked her if we could do just one blog post this weekend, combining our Caturday Art project with my Mother's Day message/Sunday Selfie.

Happy Mother's Day to all the pawsome cat moms out there!!!

And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

1. My house is too small and too cluttered.

2. Dad calls me Peasoup. Well, he used to. That was my childhood nickname.

3. I'm most likely to take a dessert to a potluck.

4. I need to ask a neighbor for help with shrub trimming.

Unboxing April's CatLadyBox

The theme of April's CatLadyBox was the Orange Cats Box...here's what was inside!

Featured Cat Lady Artist:
Boris Kasyanov

Orange Cat Energy Tee:
This shirt gets 4 paws up from my sweet boy Mo!

Orange Kitten Pot:
The purrfect plant for me...it doesn't require any care and looks adorable on the kitchen counter.

Orange Cat Umbrella:
I'm not a fan of the rain so I'm in no hurry to use this, but it's super cute hanging in the hall! Love my cat umbrellas.

Billie Brain Cell, Retro Flip Phone, and Birthday Cake Catnip Toys:
As you can see above, Mudpie dove in and tackled all 3!

Velvet Orange Kitty:
I chose this as an add-on to my April box to go with my Velvet Noir Black Cat from last fall.

Run for the Roses #CaturdayArt

Meows from Mudpie, and Happy Derby Day!

Do you plan to watch the Kentucky Derby today? We will be even though Mommy watches horse races with one eye closed. She says NASCAR is her sport of choice because when the drivers crash they aren't destroyed like the poor horses are when they fall. She loves the Triple Crown races though - they're really all she watches - and she's so thankful she's now gotten to see two Triple Crowns in her lifetime. We hope it happens again, but more than anything we just pray for a safe race each year. The horses' lives are more important than any trophy. We don't usually choose a favorite but we'll be rooting for Render Judgment, Toby Keith's horse.

For my Caturday Art project this week I decided to wrap myself in a garland of roses just like the winning horse will receive.

1. I write with my right hand.

2. My plans for the month of May include attending a foster kitten seminar and planting my veggie garden.

3. I wonder if anyone else is as uninterested in today's so-called "celebrities" as I am?

4. Christmas in July and the arrival of Halloween decor in the stores is what I like most about summer.

Thankful Thursday

Meows from Mudpie!

This week we're thankful for our new kitchen faucet. Ours bit the dust last week (the cold water wouldn't stop running even when the faucet was turned off) and Mommy had to wait a week for our plumber to replace it. Isn't it funny the things you take for granted until they no longer work?

Mommy had to take all the cleaning supplies out from under the sink so he would have room to hook up the new faucet, so of course I had to check out the empty space. (We're not sure what those old stains are. Must've been a water leak there at some point, long before our time!)

Mommy often jokes that with all the water problems we have she needs to marry a plumber. Our plumber would be the right age, and he's single, but he's not a candidate because he's obviously not a cat guy. While he was here I snoopervised his work, and he never even looked at me!

Better keep looking, Mommy!
