Just a Tortie #MewsicMovesMe

The theme of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is songs that start with the letter ‘J’.

Our Conway selection this week is dedicated to my mom, Joyce (another J!). Mom is a very sentimental person, as I am, and nothing bothers her more than hearing of someone who has passed away and their family gets rid of everything they owned either by a yard or estate sale or simply trashing things. As this song reflects, all we have when someone is gone is memories and their cherished possessions. Mom has warned me that if I do that blatantly dispose of her things she'll come back and haunt me...and I believe her! Needless to say, this is one of her favorite Conway songs.

We hope you enjoy our selections this week!
Let us know if you have a favorite.

Your paragraph touched me, Melissa. My mother was a “collector” and so am I. There was a story attached to almost everything. She has been gone sixteen years and I still haven’t gone through all her things. I, now, mingle her things with my things. Memories.
P.S.-I had never heard Conway’s song. I cried.

What a beautiful song, so many memories get attached to the things we collect, they should be respected.

That is a beautiful song. Yes, it's very sad when people pass and their belongings are gotten rid of.

M&M,

You brought some excellent country picks to the dance floor for this week's theme. I'm not sure if any ring a bell with me but I really like Patty Lovelace's "Jealous Bone". I might need to check out more of her tunes. Thanks for boogieing with us!

Great choices! It has been a long time since I've heard any of these. I used to really like Patty Loveless as a kid.

Fantastic song choices! Your little story about your mom made me smile. She sounds like a strong and wonderful woman. Well wishes to all of you!

I was going to say Patty Loveless until I got to the KLF/Tammy Wynette collaboration. I don't know what rock I've been under but that is one of the most fantastic things I have seen and heard. As for disposing of belongings of a deceased person - we have a situation like that now. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
