156 Weeks Ago #FlashbackFriday

156 weeks ago today - Friday, July 3rd, 2015 - my very first CatLadyBox arrived. I had been looking forward to it for weeks and to finally see it on my front doorstep was exciting beyond words.

Bringing the box inside I immediately began to regret not signing up for the Crazy CatLadyBox which included goodies for cats as well as cat ladies because Truffles was so interested in checking out the box. In my defense, Truffles was never that into toys, so I figured it would end up being a waste of money, but I planned to give it some thought before renewing my subscription.

What I didn't know is these would end up being the last photos of Truffles I would ever take. Less than 4 days later she would be gone and my heart would be shattered into a million pieces.

The next morning she started acting a bit "off", and even though my concern grew as the weekend went on, never in a million years would I have guessed what was to come on Monday night.

Tomorrow will be our annual tribute to Angels Tara and Truffles. I hope you'll join us to remember my sweet girls.

What a bittersweet memory. Truffles was such a special kitty, and I'll never forget that sad, shocking day when we learned she was gone. Sending you big hugs.

It is shocking how suddenly things like that can happen. It is good that you took these photos.

The last photos that I took of Chuck are still in my phone, and I'm not sure I'll ever remove them. I wasn't expecting them to be the last ones, so I know how you feel about that.

I honestly don't know how you've managed. My Kitty died over 10 years ago and I still question myself, the doctors, etc. I'm not saying you should question yourself ... I just know that's the natural conclusion when you lose a kitty like that. As much as we LOVE Miss Mudpie, we would've loved to get to know Truffles better.
ps - on Tuesday, you asked what sticky note Bear would put on Mudpie ... this is Bear's answer ... ""Once ... twice ... three times a tortie. And I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE you!"

Aw, so sorry, Melissa. Truffles was well-loved for sure, and I know she had an awesome life with you.

Your pets become part of your family. I remember our Kia last day with us. She was laying on her favorite blanket not able to get up to eat so our Luna she grew up with Kia would go to her bowl of food and bring it over to Kia. She knew what was happening. She layed with her all night with her paw on her. It was the saddest day and night. We all cried for days. Luna was lost I think she still looks for her favorite sister.. Hugs to you and your family.
